Looking for ideas on what to do in Phuket?

A boat trip to the amazing limestone Karsts jutting out of Phang Nga bay in a Chinese style Junk, many of which have caves that allow you to canoe into the centre of the ‘island’.

Guides will do the paddling for you as you glide effortlessly through the cave and emerge in an open pool in the centre of the karst. This trip usually also includes a stop off at ‘James Bond’ island made famous in the film ‘The man with the golden gun’.

Perhaps a visit the Big Buddha a 45 meter tall white marble statue perched on the top of a hill in Chalong. it visible for miles and a bit of a climb/drive to get up there but on reaching the summit as long as it’s not a cloudy day you are rewarded with stunning views of the south of the island which make the trek well worth it.

There are a number of (family friendly) shows on the island, one of the oldest and best being the Phuket Fantasea Show. The park covers a large area with shops and fair ground, coconut shy type games to amuse with prizes mostly made up of cuddly stuffed animals. You can easily spend an hour here whilst waiting for the main show to begin. The main arena seats up to 3,000 people and it is recommended to get a seat as close to the front as you can. The show is of a Thai legend and quite dazzling including dancers, actors and acrobats and even a couple of clowns with the highlight being the 12 fully grown elephants that play their part in a professional circusy way.

A rainy day perhaps, Jungle, History, Culture, Temples, Massage & Spa’s, Museums, Shopping, Take in a Show, Markets and Beautiful Beaches below are some suggestions to start you off but there is much more out there for you to discover and something for everyone.

You can also take a speed boat tour to Phi Phi island combined with water sports for a fun day out or charter the boat or water sports and tours of the islands of the Andaman sea.

These suggested visits are marked on most tourist maps available free in many hotels and in your Braun RentACar.
